Stuffed Peppers

So, with peppers of all beautiful colors in season I thought why not make stuffed peppers for dinner? And a good thing too! They were great! The family wished I had made enough for seconds! Try them out for your family. They will be begging for more!

Ingredients:
Pre~Heat Oven 350*
-
6 multi-colored peppers
-
1 Cup cooked brown rice
-
Shredded cheese
-
½ lbs natural sausage
-
½ lbs of ground hamburger
-
½ tsp salt
-
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
-
1 TBS Italian seasoning
-
Chopped garlic
-
Spaghetti sauce of choice ½ into meat mixture, extra for topping
First, get the ground sausage and ground beef browning with some chopped garlic. While that is cooking start cutting the tops off the peppers and getting out any of the seeds and membranes.
Also, if you are not using 5-minute rice start cooking your rice now as well. You will need about 1 Cup to fill the peppers.

Once the meats are strained and cooled put it into a big mixing bowl with 1/2 of a jar of spaghetti sauce of your choice.

Next, add the 1 TBS of Italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of black pepper and 1 Cup of cooked brown rice. Or whatever kind of rice you like will work just fine too!

Start with a little sauce in the bottoms of all of the peppers, then meat mixture and then some cheese. Continue until you reach the top! Then top with the remaining cheese!

Add 1 cup of water to the bottom of your cooking dish. Then cover with foil.
Bake for 1 hour then take off the foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and gorgeous brown.
